FREELANCE WORK
Ousseynou has been freelancing as an editor, animator, and videographer since high-school, and as such has developed a repertoire of works that have grown alongside him and his dedication to his craft.
NYU Black Community End-Of-Year Celebration Video
Ousseynou was given the task of crafting an engaging, celebratory video for the NYU Black Community’s End-Of-Year Celebration. The project transformed a lot in the short two-week period alotted for the edit. Starting with simple source material and getting pulled in multiple different directions from the board’s feedback, Ousseynou initially struggled to put together something substantial. However, after being given the reigns to get creative with the presentation of the material, Ousseynou conceptualized the video you see on the left.
What makes Ousseynou the most proud about this project was seeing it transform from a simple talking-head edit to the dynamic, visually compelling piece that it turned into. Being able to work off of the various notes he was given and ultimately believing in his creative vision and capabilities to see it through resulted in the well-received animation.
NYU African Graduate Students Association Conference
Every year the NYU African Graduate Students Association hosts a conference dedicated to creating conversation about the future of Africa and fostering community between NYU’s African population, by bringing in moguls from various industries to share their experience, wisdom, and advice for the students.
Ousseynou has worked as the sole videographer for the conference for the past two years, ensuring the capture the event’s impactful keynote addresses and panels in full in addition to the essence of the day for shorter recap videos. This year Ousseynou also helped extensively with the graphics packages for the event, working off of the established design from previous years to design social media posts and the slide deck for the conference.
